What You Need To Sell At The
WINDSOR CERTIFIED FARMERS MARKET
Windsor, California 95492

Sundays 10-1 ~ Opening May ~ Closing November
Thursday Night Markets ~ 5-8 ~ June - August

Dear Farmer's Marketer: This is what you need to know to be a seller at the Windsor Certified Farmers Market.

Paper work:
The manager needs copies of the following:

1. CERTIFIED GROWERS:    A Certified Producers Certificate (CPC) obtained at the Agricultural Commissioner's Office ~ 133 Aviation Blvd. Suite 110, Santa Rosa 95403 (Airport Area.)  Phone # 565-2371.  If you have a 2006 CPC and have no changes, a phone call will do.  Please allow enough time for the department to process your application.  Sometimes this can take up to two weeks.  You must have the embossed copy at your stall every market day. The Ag office will give you embossed copies if you attend other markets on the same day.

2. ORGANIC CERTIFIED GROWERS:   If your produce is organic, certification with CCOF or registration copy from Co. Ag. Dept. must be filed with manager and in evidence at your stall.

3. Fill out the 'Market Application To Sell' and READ THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE MARKET.

4. The manager's market file must have a copy of your driver's license and proof of vehicle liability insurance , (this concerns only vehicle used at market.  If your license and insurance are still current and you gave me copies last year, I still have them and you don't need to copy them again.)

5. PROCESSED and FOOD VENDORS: Must have public health permits at point of sale, as well as processing plant documents. A one million dollar product liability insurance policy must be included with your application.  This will be strictly enforced.

6. CRAFTERS:  Those selling non-edible items (flowers, crafts, for example) must have a Cal. State Board of Equalization Sellers Permit and must pay taxes to the state.   Manager needs a copy of your sellers permit for her file.  S.B.of E. is located in Santa Rosa at 50 D Street, Room 215 on the second floor.  Telephone # is 576-2100. Due to our long waiting list for Crafters, it is important to let the manager know well in advance the markets that you will not be attending.  A flat fee of $30 will be assessed to craft vendors who do not show up on market day with a possibility that you will be put on the bottom of the waiting list.

7. CERTIFIED GROWERS LOAD LISTS: The State of California requires that load lists be given to the manager reflecting individual sales of the Certified Grower each market day.   The market will be fined if they do not comply with the collection and retention of these lists.  You will find this form on the back of your daily report of sales sheet that the manager will give you each market.

8. VENDOR FEES:

a. Certified Growers:   10% of your daily gross sales. Cap set at $30 per Market. The market will pay your .60 for State Assembly Bill #593.
b.  Ag/Non Certified:    10% of your daily gross sales.  Cap set at $30 per market.
c. Crafts:             $20 flat fee per market per market space
d.  A $25 yearly processing fee will be collected by the market. This fee assists the market with Special Events, Festivals, Music, market parties, and the CDFA Certified Grower Fees paid by the market for the growers.
9.INSURANCE INFORMATION:   Our Insurance Company provides $1 million dollar coverage to the market organization only ~ NOT to any property belonging to the market, its board members or any member participant.  Individual participants/vendors are responsible for their own insurance coverage.  They should carry liability insurance for their particular exposures.  (Note:  Carrying liability insurance for yourself is a decision you must make.   This market does not require you to have coverage.  Excerpt from our Insurance Company's letter is to inform you that you are not covered by the market's policy.)
HAVE FUN :  Enjoy the moment!  Share the day with your family, friends, and peers.  Enjoy the music, chef demonstrations, and the beauty of the surroundings.  A lot of work has gone into this market by the Town of Windsor, Market Management, and your Board of Directors.
